On this HOME page, I will post current events and other notices in order to keep you informed of happenings at Victoria Kile Art.
Please feel free to browse my ABOUT page, as well as the GALLERY/STORE. (Besides art, you can purchase classes there!)
I update my blog, THIS WON'T HURT A BIT, several times a week, so check it out too.
I hope you enjoy the site and hope to meet you soon, either here in my studio, out in the world or virtually.

New pottery classes will resume this week. Tuesday May 18 at 11:00 - 1:00 day classes and 6:30 - 8:30 night classes... Classes are open to all levels, beginners to experienced artists. I've recently built a raku kiln, so that will give students a different firing experience. Price per 4 week session is $160. This price includes all materials plus glazes and firings. Small class size ensures maximum individual instruction. I'm looking forward to seeing you here.

Many new pieces are in the kilns, but neither are firing correctly. EPB has been out several times to try and fix the apparently insufficient voltage.

I am proud of the work my students make!
Here is a particularly nice group of recently-fired pieces by Angela Lowry.
So proud of her!

Good news! The Dinnerware section of my GALLERY/STORE is up and functional. I've posted just a few of the pieces and place settings, but have many more to go.
I hope you'll give it a glance.

I am seeing so much demand for place settings recently, that I've asked Ken to add a section to my store that features dinnerware: plates, bowls, mugs, pitchers and such.
Please bear with us as we construct it.

From the Bon Appétit website:
WHY RESTAURANTS ARE DITCHING WHITE CHINA FOR HAND-MADE CERAMICS
When the tablecloth disappeared from fine-dining restaurants, antiseptic white china went with it. Nowadays, meals from Noma in Copenhagen to Husk in Charleston are served on gorgeous handmade dishes—often thrown by a ceramist the chef knows as well as his butcher, farmer, or forager. And why not? It’s all part of that “artisanal” experience. Fortunately for home cooks and entertainers, well-curated shops across the country are devoting loads of shelf space to beautiful, useful plates, bowls, mugs, and more. From the potters who are breaking all the rules to the restaurants that worship them, here’s everything you need to know to get in on the movement.
